Summer is blazing hot this year in Victoria, and the days in the gym have been a cool change, lots of fun to be had, and many many new ideas. Still many weeks ahead, and gymnasts and coaches have been enjoying time together and learning new routines and skills. As well I have been working on a teachers manual for Rhythmic gymnastics, so that we can see more and more of it in our schools. In the fall and winter we hope to be a travelling road show to help introduce kids and teachers to the many benefits of Rhythmic gymnastics.
Please do contact us if you are able to train, we would love to work with your schedule and get a jumpstart on the fall and our upcoming Production - circus theme. Email Barb - victoriarg@shaw.ca, Karley - kes@uvic.ca or Rachel - rlfethers@gmail.com
A few camps that are still coming up - Rec and intermidate training will be available most weeks of the summer, registration is strong, but still some room in the August 4 - 7 week for kids ages 3 -5 and 6 - 8 years old. Team training for interested kids is being offered each week, and we have the flexibility to make it work for your family schedule.
We have some interest and are advertising for more - for the upcoming Strength and Flexibility workshops that will give athletes and dancers the edge on their sport. Contact victoriarg@shaw.ca to see if this will fit for you. 2 hour programs 4 days the week of July 28 to 31.
Upcoming events for August, I can appreciate the struggle of working parents and trying to get your child to a gym camp, so we are offering a few workshops in the early evening in the month of August. Again call or email Barb if you are interested in Tuesday and Thursday nights 5- 7 pm for the following - STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING - CHOREOGRAPHY FOR YOUR OWN CIRCUS ROUTINE - TUMBLING SKILLS - BALLET. Individual and group training available.
The fall will be exciting with the recruitment of the BC Games team, athletes born in 98- 2000, Production excitement for November, and Snowflake Event and then the fun road trip planned for January or February to visit schools in Nanaimo and Comox.
I will update this blog weekly during the summer, so make sure you sign up as a follower of the blog.
